The Tie Handler will pull out ties and insert ties without the need to be shoveling constantly.
The patented IMR TIE HANDLER ST-48 is the first of its kind for the railroad industry. It has the power to insert or extract crushed ties, new ties, concrete ties, in two strokes with a 30 second cycle time. The IMR cylinders have the power to break the ballast by digging in and pushing through. With the multi-functions that this attachment has, it mounts easily up to anything with a hydraulic loader or boom. It is engineered with IMR's high quality craftsmanship, and the toughest steel available. It has proven to shave minutes off of the standard way of removing ties. The Tie Handler ST-48 saves time, money, and injuries by not having the need for many laborers out in the field. There are 7 functions on this attachment.
1.) Railhead clamp mechanism – clamps unit to both rails at all corners of attachment
2.) Stroker box rotate – allows gripper mechanism to clear or engage ballast and tie
3.) Gripper tilt mechanism – provides 7 degrees of rotational movement allowing gripper to dig into ballast and position opposite end of tie for desired placement
4.) Tie gripper mechanism – grips tie for removal or insertion
5.) Stroker mechanism – provides 48” of linear movement once tie is gripped, for extraction of insertion of tie.
6.) Rail lifter cylinders (2) – lifts rail enough to slide tie in or out if tie is hung up on tie plate
7.) Main assembly tilt cylinder – provides 50 degrees of complete attachment rotation in order to pick up ties from the roadbed ditch line.
